Embrace the Advent of Autumn with the September Equinox this Friday!

Friday is the September Equinox, officially marking the advent of autumn.  The degrees may be dropping but don't let the thermometer thwart your happiness – embrace this seasonal shift!

As well as celebrating with a seasonal sale on all Positivitea products (see the shop - sale till the end of September only) we’ve also put our heads together and come up with three simple tips on how to maximise Autumn to your advantage:

Set aside time for an ‘Autumn Clean’

An Autumn Clean is the new Spring Clean! September is a great time to de-clutter for the winter months ahead as we’ll be spending more time indoors and our environment should therefore produce a calming effect on our body and minds.  Spiritually speaking clutter represents stagnant energy and as it acts like a magnet it’s important to rid of unnecessary things to allow the energy to flow freely in our homes.  We’re listening to the audiobook ‘Banish Clutter Forever – How The Toothbrush Principle Will Change Your Life’ by Sheila Chandra and whilst we'll never be die-hard minimalists (a little clutter is cosy no?) we highly recommend this audiobook to start off on the right foot for fall.

Do an easy Ayurvedic Tea Cleanse

Get into a morning ritual with this cleansing Ayurvedic tea which can help boost your metabolism and alkalise the body at the same time. In a cup of warm water mix a tablespoon of honey with up to three tablespoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar and a squeeze of lemon.  You can also add turmeric to taste (a strong anti-inflammatory) or cinnamon if you prefer it sweeter (which will also help balance your blood sugars).  Not only will this simple drink boost your immunity but it will also promote digestion and neutralize toxins in the body. If you drink this every day you’ll reduce the risk of getting the common cold tenfold!

Be Ambitious – set new Autumn goals!

A new season is the perfect time to reflect on the year so far and address what you want to achieve for the rest of 2017.  The year is not over yet and there’s still to time climb mountains before Christmas.  Break long-term goals into short-term goals with multiple measurable steps. This will set up reward system of dopamine-induced motivation to the brain.  Remember, what the mind of man can conceive and believe it can achieve . . . so be Ambitious!
